Real vs Ideal - Using Dissonance to Discover Balance for Educators and Students (6-12)

In a world where we are asked to be so many things to so many people, this session aims to help educators find clarity and focus. A short reflective activity should spark a rich, guided discussion on how to balance both educators' and students' academic and emotional needs.

Leah Kreitinger is in her sixth year as a school counselor in Montana. She is currently a counselor at Bozeman High School for grades 10-12, serves on the master scheduling team, and climate committee to improve school culture. Previous adventures had Leah as department chair at BHS, counselor for a K-12 school district, and teaching undergraduate health and human development classes at Montana State University, Bozeman.
